Basic anatomical terms: You will learn the basic terms and concepts of anatomy, giving you a solid foundation for understanding and communicating about body structures.

Muscular system: You will learn about the different muscle groups in the body, their location, functions and how they work together during different movements and exercises.

Skeletal system: The module covers the structure, functions and role of bones in moving and supporting the body.

In the Physiology module, we focus on giving you an in-depth understanding of how the body systems work and how they respond to physical activity.

You will learn the following:

Energy metabolism and metabolism: You will learn about the body's energy systems, including aerobic and anaerobic energy production, and how these systems are affected during different types of exercise.

Cardiovascular and respiratory physiology: This module covers how the heart, lungs and circulatory system respond to exercise, including heart rate, stroke volume, blood pressure and oxygen uptake.

Muscle and neuromotor control: You will learn about muscle structure, functions and how they respond to exercise as well as neuromuscular control and coordination during different movements.

The training theory part of the programme focuses on giving you an in-depth understanding of how to plan, design and adapt training programmes for different target groups and needs.

Training theory includes the following topics:

Exercise theory and training methods: You will learn about basic exercise theory, including load, progression, variation and recovery, as well as different training methods and their specific effects on the body.

Training programme design: The course focuses on how to design effective training programmes tailored to the client's needs, goals and physical abilities, including building training programmes for strength, muscle growth, endurance, flexibility and functional training.

Training planning and periodisation: You will learn about training planning and periodisation, including how to structure training programmes over time to optimise performance and minimise the risk of overuse injuries.

Evaluation methods and tests: The course includes evaluation methods and approaches to assess clients' physical performance level and progress; including the use of various tests, measurements and rating scales.

Analysing movements and techniques: The course covers analysing different movements and training techniques, including correct execution of exercises, adjustment of techniques and injury prevention.

Basic biomechanics: You will learn how to perform a basic biomechanical analysis to assess stress displacement and training effect of a given exercise.

In the Business Understanding module, we focus on giving you the tools to run a successful personal trainer business.

Starting a training business: You will learn about the basic steps to starting and running a training business, including choosing a business structure, registration, licences and insurance.

Business planning and strategy: The module focuses on developing a business plan and strategy, including goal setting, audience analysis, competitor analysis, marketing strategies and budgeting.

Sales and marketing: You'll learn sales and marketing principles, including how to attract and retain customers, build a strong brand identity, develop sales strategies and utilise digital marketing tools such as social media.

Administrative tasks and accounting: You'll learn about administrative tasks including scheduling training sessions, time management, invoicing, accounting and financial management.
